In the first July, the import and export of Yiwu foreign trade exceeded 300 billion yuan

This year, Yiwu brand in the sea and other positive factors, driven by foreign trade imports and exports continue to release a stronger driving force. According to Yiwu customs, Yiwu’s imports and exports totaled 321.1 billion yuan in the first seven months of this year, up 19.7 percent from the same period last year.

Of this total, exports totaled 283.72 billion yuan, up 16.1 percent year-on-year, and imports totaled 37.38 billion yuan, up 57.4 percent year-on-year. The value of imports, exports and imports accounted for 11.5 percent, 13.9 percent and 5.1 percent of the province’s total, respectively, the proportion increased by 1.6,1.7 and 1.7 percentage points respectively.

In the first July of this year, Yiwu’s exports to its main trade markets grew rapidly. From January to July, Yiwu imported and exported 59.20 billion yuan to Africa, up 31.6 percent year on year, and 49.42 billion yuan to Latin , up 32.7 percent year on year. In addition, imports and exports to India and Saudi Arabia totaled 15.39 billion yuan and 8.06 billion yuan respectively, up 11.3 percent and 54.6 percent year on

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. In the past 10 years, Yiwu has been expanding its import and export business with the countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”. According to Yiwu customs statistics, from January to July, Yiwu’s total imports and exports to the “Belt and Road” countries were 119.64 billion yuan, up 18.9 percent year on year. In the same period, Yiwu’s total imports and exports to RCEP countries totaled 45.15 billion yuan, up 1.4 percent year on year.

A decade ago, Yiwu pioneered the market-sourcing trade, making it easier to export small goods. Now, the market purchase trade mode has occupied the leading position in Yiwu export. According to Yiwu customs statistics, from January to July, Yiwu exported 217.46 billion yuan through market purchase trade, up 19.5% year on year, accounting for 76.6% of the total value of Yiwu’s exports, and contributing 90.4% to the growth of Yiwu’s exports Imports and exports through general trade totaled 83.63 billion yuan, up 12.5 percent year-on-year. On the export side, Laomi products have made outstanding contributions, and the export of pulp, paper and their products has grown rapidly.

From January to July, Yiwu exported laomi products worth 113.12 billion yuan, up 21.1 percent year on year and accounting for 39.9 percent of the total value of Yiwu’s exports. In the same period, Yiwu exported 108.14 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, up 11.4 percent year on year and accounting for 38.1 percent of the total value of Yiwu’s exports. In terms of imports, consumer goods occupy the first place. From January to July, Yiwu imported 19.69 billion yuan of consumer goods, up 27.7 percent year on year. Of this total, 3.41 billion yuan was imported into China, an increase of 56.6 percent year-on-year.
