Recently, the Market Supervision Bureau of Yiwu has put on shelves in the intellectual property trading center of Zhejiang province eight patents for utility models, including an auto-adjusting clamping and positioning device, an exhibition-type stationery box and an adjustable lunch box, and two patents for the appearance design of a child chair (whale) and a pressing toothpick barrel (rabbit) , and for the province’s enterprises to open the license.
This is the first batch of shared patents launched by the Market Supervision Bureau to promote the implementation of the open patent licensing system and promote the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. Patent opening license means that the obligee, after obtaining the patent right, voluntarily makes a declaration of opening license to the patent administration of the state, specifies the royalties, which shall be announced by the patent administration of the state, and within the period of patent opening license, any person may implement the patented technological achievements in accordance with the conditions of the patent opening license.
It is reported that the first batch of shared patents can be applied to most enterprises in Yiwu, can effectively enhance the production efficiency of enterprises, expand product functions, improve product design, help enterprise development, promote enterprise transformation and upgrading. “The Market Supervision Bureau has taken the initiative to contact us to share our patents. The licensing fee for utility model patents is 1,000 yuan per year, and the licensing fee for design patents is 500 yuan per year. This has helped us get rid of the past predicament where school patents could not effectively meet the needs of enterprises, and there was a very simple way to transform and apply them,” said Wang Bo, head of the Science and Technology Department at Yiwu Vocational and Technical College, “Thanks to this new experiment and exploration in Zhejiang province, there is hope to reverse the long-term stagnation of the achievements of big innovators such as schools, which can not be effectively applied.”
“With further work on intellectual property protection, the number of patents filed in Yiwu has been steadily increasing, and with it the dilemma of ‘transforming’ the achievements of universities and institutions and ‘acquiring’ technologies for small and medium-sized enterprises has become increasingly prominent.”.
